The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphones will benefit from improvements to their camera. Although there should be a little difference between the two models!
In a few months, Apple will formalize its new devices in the iPhone 16 range. Phones which, like every year, will benefit from improvements compared to the previous edition. We learned at the start of the week that the iPhone 16 Pro max should benefit from a renewed battery, thanks to which autonomy would be increased. And today, its new cameras are being revealed to us.
An improved ultra wide-angle for the new Pro versions
With iPhones, it is generally possible to take very beautiful photos. A feature that Apple is keen on, and which it is constantly improving, particularly in its most high-end models, namely the Pro models.
And this is what should still be true for the future iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. Indeed, Macrumors echoes information leaked on the Chinese social network Weibo and which tells us that these two phones should benefit from a 48 Mpx ultra wide angle, which will allow these smartphones to capture more light, and therefore take better quality photos in low light conditions. For comparison, the current iPhone 15 Pros are entitled to a 12 Mpx ultra wide-angle.
The main camera, different depending on the model?
But if both models will be winners on the ultra wide angle, they should not be treated the same way when it comes to the main sensor. The same source indicates that the iPhone 16 Pro Max would be entitled to a larger and more advanced photo sensor, the Sony IMX903.
The iPhone 16 Pro will have to “make do” with what is already offered with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, namely the Sony IMX803. Note that analysts expect the iPhone 17 generation to complete the transition from Pro models to 48MP sensors, with a 48MP telephoto lens reportedly appearing for the two most advanced devices.
