It’s been a few weeks since iOS 16 began to invade the latest generations of iPhones. However, Apple does not forget the owners of devices prior to the iPhone 8 and is deploying a new update for iOS 15.

Nearly two months after the official launch of iOS 16, it was recently iPadOS 16’s turn to make its debut and unveil all of its new features. Good news for iOS 15 users though: an update has just been rolled out.

iOS 16.1 welcomes some new features

Since last September, many eyes have already turned to the new version of Apple’s operating system, although it is not supported by all iPhones. As a reminder, here is the list of devices compatible with iOS 16:

  • iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
  • iPhone SE of 2e generation (or newer)
  • iPhone X, Xr, Xs and Xs Max
  • iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max

A few days ago, the Cupertino company released iOS 16.1 for its compatible iPhones. Among the new features brought by this update, we find in particular the iCloud shared photo library, a change in the display of the percentage of the battery as well as Fitness + which is now usable without Apple Watch. For its part, iOS 15 is not completely forgotten, since a (small) update has just recently been deployed.

iOS 15: a new security patch deployed

Since October 27, iOS 15.7.1 has been available for download. If very little information has been communicated about him, we do know that ” this new version provides important security updates and is recommended for all users “, according to the indications provided by the apple brand.

You will therefore have understood it well, nothing new on the horizon, except for a patch to resolve a major security vulnerability. As for new features, we will now have to rely on iOS 16, which should continue to be enriched over the weeks and months to come.
