Apple is already thinking about its future iPhone 17 series of smartphones, which will be released in 2025. And this could include a newcomer: the iPhone 17 Slim.
In a few weeks, lovers of the bitten apple will be able to discover what Apple has in store for them with iOS 18, and its famous AI tools. At the start of the school year, it will then be the turn of the iPhone 16 to be made official, with, as in recent years, four new types of smartphones, including the iPhone 16 Plus. A device that could already be the last of its kind, if we follow the information that has just leaked onto the web.
No more Plus, but just Slim?
Since the release of the iPhone 14 range, devices produced by Apple have been divided into four categories. The iPhone, the iPhone Pro, the iPhone Pro Max… and the iPhone Plus. A device similar in power to the basic iPhone, but which benefits from a larger screen, especially for those who like to binge-watch content on their phone.
However, after two generations, and a third coming, the iPhone Plus could disappear. Indeed, according to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities, the Cupertino firm would like to replace this model in 2025 with a new model, which would be called iPhone 17 Slim.
A more elegant phone?
And he doesn’t just give us a name, since according to the same source, this iPhone 17 slim would benefit from a 6.6-inch screen, a better selfie module, and above all, a Dynamic Island smaller. Would the “Slim” therefore indicate to us the appearance of a more “slender” device?
Jeff Pu also explains that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim will be entitled to 8 GB RAM, compared to 12 GB for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. These two Pro models will also be the only ones guaranteed to benefit from the A19 chip. The iPhone 17 and 17 Slim could perhaps work with the A18 SoC. Will the arrival of this new model be enough to stop the bad luck that iPhones are currently experiencing?
