iPhone: The latest iOS update solves battery problems

On Thursday, Apple released iOS 15.4.1 for the iPhone. The update weighs only 313.2 MB on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Don’t let the size of this update fool you into thinking it’s minor, though. According to the changelog, the update includes a bug fix that caused unexpected and excessive battery drain after updating to iOS 15.4.

In addition to fixing battery drain, iOS 15.4.1 fixes the issue of Braille devices becoming unresponsive to text navigation or displaying an alert. Another bug fix mentioned by Apple is Made for iPhone hearing aids losing connection with third-party apps.

That’s not all: while vulnerabilities in Apple’s operating systems could be actively exploited, the Apple brand has just released several patches. macOS, iOS and iPadOS are indeed affected by the CVE-2022-22675 flaw, a bug in the audio and video decoder that would allow an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Apple has therefore released iOS 15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1 versions, which contain a fix for the security flaw.
