The flashlight of your iPhone can not only be switched on and off – you can also change the brightness! Dimming is so intuitive that you will probably hardly forget it after following these instructions. Whether as a party trick or as a useful feature when going to the toilet at night – in the latest coffee break I’ll tell you how it’s done!
The fact that your smartphone has a flashlight on the back is of course nothing new for a long time. However, if you use an Apple iPhone, you have a small special feature when using the LED lamp on the back. Because you can adjust the brightness of the lamp, which can be really useful in many situations.
The idea for this guide actually came to me when I showed Antoine and Camila the function at the MWC. Both were surprised that there is such a feature on the iPhone and that it is so easy to access. Because to dim all you have to do is:
- Open your iPhone’s Control Center – pull down to the right of Notch
- Press and hold the flashlight icon
- Drag finger up to increase brightness

That’s it! To make sure that this guide doesn’t look too sparse, there are a couple of other practical tricks that you can do in the control center by holding down the button.

Holding down the entries allows some more advanced settings in the control center. I will summarize them for you in tabular form:

With these shortcuts you can increase the working speed of your iPhone even more. The shortcuts are of course also available on the iPad.
