DUBAI (Reuters) – Fifteen people were killed and scores injured on Wednesday in an attack on a Shiite shrine in Shiraz, southern Iran, Iranian authorities said, adding that the author of the attack, claimed by the Islamic State group, had been stopped.

This attack against the Shah-Tcheragh shrine in Shiraz took place while numerous demonstrations were organized in Iran to mark the fortieth day of the death of Mahsa Amini, at the origin of the protest movement which is shaking Iran.
