Iran-Israel tensions: Lufthansa extends suspension of flights to Tehran until April 18

BERLIN (Reuters) – German airline Lufthansa has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Tehran by five days until April 18, the DPA news agency reported on Friday, citing a spokesperson for the band.

The airline was not immediately available for comment.

Flights to Tehran were initially suspended until April 13.

The Middle East is on alert over Tehran’s threat of retaliation for a suspected Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Lufthansa and its subsidiary Austrian Airlines are the only two Western companies to operate flights to Tehran, which is mainly served by Turkish and Middle Eastern companies.
