Iran: Washington coordinates with allies to respond to crackdown on protests

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. State Department said on Friday it would continue to coordinate with allies and partners on how to respond to Iran’s “bloody crackdown” on protesters and its “sustained violence by the state” against women.

“We will continue to coordinate with our allies and partners to respond to the violent repression in Iran as well as, frankly, state-sponsored violence against women,” the department’s spokesperson told reporters. State, Vedant Patel.

“The Iranian government has now killed over 100 people in its bloody crackdown,” he added, citing credible human rights organizations.
