A member of the Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s ideological army, was shot dead on Monday (November 28th) in Isfahan, according to official media.
He was killed in an armed attack in this city in the center of the country, said deputy local governor Mohammad-Réza Jannessari, quoted by the Irna news agency. An investigation is underway to identifythe authorsof the attack, he added without further details.

In mid-November in Isfahan, two assailants on a motorbike fired automatic weapons at security guards, killing a police colonel and two paramilitaries.
Monday’s attack came as the Islamic Republic of Iran has been rocked by a wave of protests since the September 16 death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd arrested by morality police for violating the Iran’s strict dress code.
Dozens of people, mainly protesters but also members of the security forces, have been killed since the start of the protest, according to the authorities.
