The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that it had summoned the ambassador of Iran – a great ally and neighbor – to protest against the firing of missiles which hit Erbil, capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.

The ministry denounces in a press release “flagrant violation of sovereigntyfrom Iraq and says he has “summoned the ambassador to Iraq of the Islamic Republic of Iran” for “inform him of the government’s protests on the missile strikes“which led to”material losses» and «damage to civilian facilities and citizens’ homes“.
