Former head of Warner in Europe, the German Iris Knobloch will succeed Pierre Lescure on 1er July. She undertakes to avoid any conflict of interest.

EShe will be the first woman to reign on the Croisette. Approached in recent days for the position, the German Iris Knobloch was elected by secret ballot this Wednesday as future president of the Cannes Film Festival. His candidacy collected 18 votes for, 6 votes against, 1 draw and 3 blank votes, during the board of directors which was held at the end of the morning rue Charlot, in Paris. Some board members, including representatives of independent producers and distributors, complained that the process was too “closed”. They asked to be more associated with the Festival’s strategic choices in the future.
Iris Knobloch will take over on 1er July 2022 to Pierre Lescure for three years. Re-elected in June 2020, the latter did not want to complete his third three-year term as…
