Ironheart: after Black Panther 2, what will we see the new Iron Man in?

In Black Panther 2, Marvel introduces a new superhero named Ironheart. A character that we will find… on Disney+!

That’s it, Marvel fans have finally been able to discover Black Panther 2 at the cinema, after months of waiting and an unbearable suspense as to its broadcast on the big or small screen. If some were waiting to know the identity of T’Challa’s replacement (Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020), others were also eager to see a certain Riri Williams played by Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah) in action.

Presented as the new Iron Man for his geek side and his love for armor, his arrival in the MCU is particularly scrutinized. Especially since this character seems important enough for Marvel to devote a dedicated series to him on Disney+, expected in 2023. We already know his synopsis:

Shortly after the events chronicled in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams, a genius young inventor, is determined to leave her mark on the world. But his unique approach to building metal armor is both brilliant and…perfectible! “Ironheart” explores the dynamics of technology versus magic.

On the casting side, she will give the reply to Anthony Ramos (Where we come from) who will play the super-villain Hood, Manny Montana (Good Girls) and Alden Ehrenreich (Solo). We do not know if the action will take place in Wakanda or in the United States, but we are counting on this Disney + series to learn a little more about this character and what Marvel intends to do with him.

Riri Williams should also be present in Armor Wars, which goes from the small skylight to the big screen. Centered on Don Cheadle aka War Machine, the film is expected to revolve around Iron Man’s legacy and who could take his place in the MCU.

The new superhero appears briefly in the trailer.

And in the comics?

Ironheart is a fairly recent superheroine. Created in 2016 by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato, it appears in the Iron Man comics. Her name – Rihanna Robyn Williams – is a nod to singer Rihanna, aka Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Riri doesn’t have any special powers, like Tony Stark. His improved armor, marked with a heart (which gives him his name) allows him to perform well in the field.

Note that the character is at the center of a medium-length film available on Disney + which we were already talking about here. The opportunity to learn a little more about this new Marvel superheroine.
