IronKey Vault Privacy 80: an external SSD with color touchscreen from Kingston

With its IronKey Vault Privacy 80, Kingston innovates by offering a secure and independent external SSD thanks to the integration of a color touch screen.

Kingston is preparing to market a new secure external SSD, the IronKey Vault Privacy 80, which offers hardware data encryption (XTS-AES 256 bits) and is not dependent on the operating system of a third-party computer. Indeed, this external SSD integrates a small color touch screen which allows it to be independent, with a complete configuration of the various accesses and user accounts.

Kingston offers multiple parameters defining the behavior of the disk, authorizing, among other things, to lock it and/or encrypt the data automatically in the event of repeated incorrect entries of a password. Lots of scenarios of this type can be anticipated and everything is manageable by the administrator from the touch screen.

Safety before performance

Available in three capacities (480, 960 and 1920 GB), the Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 external SSD is guaranteed for three years and is primarily aimed at professionals. Comes with a neoprene case and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 cables (Type-A and Type-C), it measures 122.5 x 84.2 x 18.5 mm and ensures transfers up to 250 MB/s in reading and writing. It is therefore clearly not the fastest of external SSDs, but it is indeed on security that Kingston tries to stand out with this product.
