Is 5G dangerous for health? ANSES has issued its opinion: Current Woman The MAG

After 3G, then 4G, it is the turn of 5G to be deployed in France. If this new generation of network for mobile telephony promises unprecedented connection speed (10 times faster than 5G), it has been at the heart of controversy for several years.

In question, the electromagnetic waves that this new technology emettered, and which would expose the population to disorders ofelectrosensitivity, but also at the risk of developing certain pathologies, such as cancer, etc.

Dangers of 5G: ANSES gives its opinion on the risks of exposure

Faced with these growing fears at a time when 5G continues to be deployed on French territory, theNational Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES), has just issued an opinion on the health consequences of exposure to this very high speed connection.

And based on the scientific data available today, ANSES is reassuring about the danger associated with the exposure of the population to 5G.

The Agency estimates “unlikely that the deployment of 5G in the 3.5 GHz frequency band presents new health risks”, can we read in the press release published on Tuesday.

“The 5G mobile telephone network in the frequency band around 3.5 GHz has recently been opened commercially in France. The resulting exposure to electromagnetic fields is today not representative of what it will be in the future”, recognizes the Agency.

But data on greater exposure to electromagnetic waves, already available in other countries, “do not suggest, in the state of knowledge”, of proven health risks.

Fifth generation of network: further research is needed to rule out all risks

While the risks associated with exposure to this fifth generation of mobile networks are virtually eliminated with the use of the 3.5 GHz band, ANSES specifies that, concerning “the 26GHz frequency band”, which will soon be exploited, “the data are, at present, not sufficient to conclude with the existence or not of health effects”.

The 26GHz band designates additional 5G coverage, deployed in the years to come, which will notably allow high-speed communication between connected objects.

Further research is therefore necessary to clarify this opinion recently issued by ANSES, which is launching a public consultation, “in order to collect any comments from the scientific community and interested stakeholders”.
