Is a new Assassin’s Creed game planned for 2022?

As announced in the synopsis of the article, journalist Jason Schreier of Bloomberg claimed that Ubisoft was changing plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLCs to make one of the next expansions as being a stand alone where stealth will be back.

The DLC is therefore seen being changed into a complete game where Basim will be the main protagonist. The code name for the next game is “Assassin’s Creed Rift” and should have been released for 2020 as DLC. The change of direction comes down to the desire to add much more stealth and infiltration while highlighting a well-known character from Valhalla. Eurogamer even advance that the game could take place in Baghdad and that Basim will indeed be back.

According to reports received by journalists, the next game will be much less substantial than the previous ones and will have nothing to do with an open-world role-playing game. It is not at all clear what form the game will take, but the era of assassins will be back. On paper, it looks like the gameplay ofAssassin’s Creed Unity will be back, even amplified. Indeed, according to the comments given, it would seem that the format of the next game is completely new.

Regarding the release date, Jason Schreier’s sources give awide range between 2022 and 2023. The revelation of the title has not yet been made, so we will have to wait to know more. Fortunately, Ubisoft has something to eat, because Dawn of Ragnarok, the next expansion of Valhalla, will be titanic according to the words put forward by the publisher.
