Samsung is a pioneering brand in the small world of folding smartphones. The good news is that the manufacturer obviously does not intend to stop there!

On the occasion of the show dedicated to new technologies which will take place in Las Vegas, Samsung could well lift the veil on a sacred surprise!

When folding is no longer enough!

There’s no need to repeat Samsung’s pedigree when it comes to mobile phones with a foldable screen. Whether through its Z Fold or Z Flip ranges, the manufacturer has almost everyone in agreement. The technology has improved significantly over the iterations and now it’s time to go even further!

That’s why all eyes will be on the Consumer Electronic Show (or CES for short) which will open its doors on January 5th. This 2023 edition will allow us to discover many innovations and other new products. In this little game, Samsung will visibly manage to stand out. Thus, the site ETNews reports that the multinational has kept an ace up its sleeve for the US show. A limited number of guests will be able to see a strange prototype with their own eyes.

An easy-to-tame screen?

If we believe these rumors, Samsung is preparing a foldable screen that will have the ability to slide or stretch. It would therefore be a question of a hybrid slab. Corridor noises explain that it will not be possible to unfold and enlarge the screen simultaneously. The user will no doubt have to make a choice. In addition, dimensions have also been communicated. We are talking here about an 8-inch panel which, once unfolded, will reach 10 inches. As for the stretch function, it would allow the slab to climb up to 12.4 inches.

Thus, this mysterious device seems both capable of opting for a “smartphone”, “touch pad” and “laptop” format. An all-in-one object that could turn out to be revolutionary. Alas, its price is also likely to hurt a lot (at least beyond 2000 dollars). It remains to be seen whether Samsung will follow through on its idea or end up burying this connected object.
