Accused of having hidden a large sum of money but also of not living in Portugal, Isabelle Adjani justifies herself again in the columns of Paris Match. The actress notably assures that she has never been wealthy.

Isabelle Adjani must face justice. On July 18, theAFP revealed that the 68-year-old actress would have been invited to appear before the Paris Criminal Court on suspicion of “ tax fraud ” and of ” laundering of tax fraud » on October 19.

To begin with, the actress is accused of having tried to conceal “a donation of two million euros emanating from Mamadou Diagna NDiaye, under cover of a loan”. Isabelle Adjani justifies this with a simple loan from the rich Senegalese businessman, a loan that she is still repaying “as she goes along”.

Also, the actress is accused of having “fraudulently” chose to reside in Portugal for “evade 236,000 euros of income tax “. Facts that she also firmly disputes: “The tax administration applies […] to question my departure to Portugal since 2017, where I have every right to reside and where I live in my apartment”.

Isabelle Adjani clarifies her alleged fortune

To which the actress responds “You can’t be ruined when you’ve never been wealthy“. She adds : I made more money than average, but I gave and lost more than average too” while deploring the fact of having become “a target” for the French tax authorities.
