The center politician Isabelle Chassot (56) will probably represent the canton of Friborg in the Council of States. For the first time in many years, the Freiburg SP would no longer be represented in the Stöckli. Your candidate for the successor to the resigning Council of States former SP President Christian Levrat (51), Carl-Alex Ridoré, can hardly hold the seat. So far, Chassot has almost twice as many votes as Ridoré.
Levrat for Schwaller
As of December 1, Levrat will become Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Post. He succeeds Urs Schwaller (68), who once also sat on the Council of States for Freiburg – and led the then CVP (now center) as parliamentary group leader in the Bundeshaus.
After counting 115 of the 129 municipalities, Chassot, the current director of the Federal Office of Culture (BAK) and former Freiburg State Councilor, has 38,411 votes. Carl-Alex Ridoré, the current prefect of the Saane district, has so far received 21,394 votes.
Big cities are missing
The results of the two largest cities, Freiburg and Bulle, were not yet available. The turnout was 41.65 percent.
The second Freiburg Council of States seat is occupied by the liberal, Johanna Gapany (33). (SDA / pt)
