From November 1st, travel to Israel for tourist purposes will be possible again for vaccinated persons. As the Israeli government announced on Wednesday, a complete vaccination with the preparations from Pfizer / Biontech, Moderna, Astrazeneca, Johnson & Johnson or the Chinese vaccines Sinovac and Sinopharm is required for entry from this date.
From November 15th, vaccinations with the Russian agent Sputnik V will also be accepted.
Entry requirements
However, the vaccinations must not be older than six months. In addition, travelers must present a negative PCR test result that is no more than 72 hours old.
A second test will then be carried out upon arrival in Israel. The quarantine that initially applies after arrival will be lifted when the second negative test result is received.
Tourism put on hold at the end of summer
A few weeks ago, Israel initially put plans to relax its corona restrictions in tourism on hold after more than 11,000 corona infections were detected daily at the end of August and early September. However, in the course of a campaign for a third corona vaccination, the number of cases fell again.
The green light for travelers vaccinated with Sputnik was not included in the original plans. The Israeli press viewed the move as a diplomatic gesture in the direction of Moscow. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had recently traveled to Russia and met President Vladimir Putin. (AFP)
