Israel wants to end its “responsibility” for Gaza (Gallant)


JERUSALEM, Oct 20 (Reuters) – One of the goals of Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip is to end Israel’s “responsibility” for the Palestinian enclave, Israel’s defense minister said on Friday , Yoav Gallant.

Yoav Gallant was speaking before the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

“Gallant detailed the goals of the campaign, including the elimination of Hamas and the destruction of its military and political capabilities, the complete removal of Israel’s responsibility for the Gaza Strip, and the creation of a new security reality in the region”, declared the minister’s services.
