Israeli army claims to have killed local Hezbollah leader in southern Lebanon

No place in Israel will be spared in case of war, Hezbollah warns

The leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, warned on Wednesday that“no place” in Israel would be spared from its formation’s missiles if Israeli leaders followed through on their threats to attack Lebanon.

“The enemy knows perfectly well that we have prepared for the worst” and he must “wait for us by land, by sea and by air”he warned in a speech broadcast live on Lebanese television.

Hassan Nasrallah has for the first time threatened the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, saying “hold information according to which (…) Israel says it would use Cypriot airports and bases if Hezbollah attacks its airports ».

“Opening Cypriot airports and bases to the Israeli enemy to target Lebanon would mean that the Cypriot government is party to the war”, he said. A member of the European Union, the island maintains good relations with Lebanon and Israel. Cyprus is located approximately 200 kilometers from Lebanon and some 300 kilometers from Israel.

The day before, the Israeli army claimed to have approved “operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon”. Statements made on Tuesday “as part of the assessment of the situation”conducted in the presence of Major General Ori Gordin, Commander of the Northern Military Region, and the Head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Oded Basiuk.

Tensions on the Israeli-Lebanese border, where clashes have been almost daily between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since October 7, have clearly increased in intensity over the past week.
