We say “Bonjour” to the croissant bag
It is desperate: At first we all really want the nylon bags, then the next dream bag is coming along. But the investment is worthwhile here! You can read here why we simply can’t resist this bag.
Hmm, croissants … we can already see ourselves sitting in a small Parisian café with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy life with a coffee in one hand and sweet pastries in the other. But this is not about this type of croissant. What is meant is the new shape of the It-Bags: crescent-shaped and at least as seductive. It is characterized by the slouchy look of the leather.
Croissant bags: new it bags on the horizon
On the one hand, you can see on Instagram & Co. that croissant bags are experiencing a real high-altitude flight – the fashion influencers love the model and are busy posting themselves with the it-bag on their arm. On the other hand, the demand for the keyword “croissant” in connection with bags on the fashion search platform “Lyst” increased by 206 percent compared to the same period last year. A clear indication that we will probably not be able to get past this bag in 2021.
Croissant bags: the trailblazers
The Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta regularly amazes us with their dreamy creations. So it is this time too: The “Shoulder Pouch” from the luxury brand brought the trend of croissant bags onto the catwalks and into our daydreams. Fashion giant Fendi is also jointly responsible and acts as the namesake of the models (after the baguette bags, the house’s classic bag).
Croissant bag: the best models
Unfortunately, these bags are not only fantastic, they are also a real investment. At Bottega Veneta, the bags start at 2,200 euros, the Fendi models start at 1,600 euros. The situation is similar with Louis Vuitton and Co., which have also succumbed to the croissant hype. Fortunately, our favorite street style labels don’t let us down and offer us affordable alternatives! Right at the front: The “Anja” bag from Nanushka. At around 400 euros, it’s still not an absolute bargain, but a good alternative to luxury bags. The big fashion chains Mango, Zara & Co. also have croissant bags in the affordable price segment.
That’s why we love croissant bags
One thing is certain: you can’t go wrong with this model. It offers enough space for everyday life, but you can also go through the night with it. With this bag we are turning away from the trend towards mini bags and no longer have to choose between our favorite things – we just take them all with us! Another blush, a lipstick – and maybe you prefer to plug in your company cell phone if you get a call … No problem with the croissant bag! Here, too, you can of course choose between different sizes, but the “Shoulder Pouch” by Bottega Veneta seems to herald the return to larger models.
This is how we style the It-Bag
The croissant bag looks particularly elegant in neutral colors such as white, beige or gray. These noble colors are best used in combination with a color-matching outfit. We see it that way with various bloggers who post with their pockets. On the other hand, we are very impressed by the idea of a gaudy bag in combination with a simple outfit. You can definitely go wrong with the uncomplicated bag. That is one of the reasons (in addition to the unbelievably great design) why we completely fell for this bag in summer 2021!
