We knew the design of this smart watch since its release in China in December 2022, but we finally got to see it for ourselves! Xiaomi has just launched the marketing of the new Redmi connected watch in France: the Redmi Watch 3. A third generation that is more modern, larger, heavier… and always more similar to an Apple Watch.
A nice new design
When we got started, we were able to discover the new design of this Redmi Watch 3: the exterior design of the watch is a little different from that of the Redmi Watch and Redmi Watch 2, with a 42 x 36 mm case with more rounded and less rectangular corners. However, it keeps the same thickness of 10 mm, but its edge has gone from a matte finish to an elegant glossy finish.
The single side button is also always placed on the right edge and does not require too much effort to press it. Below, we can see the two attachment points for recharging as well as the heart rate and blood oxygen saturation sensors. The finishes are clean and the watch inspires solidity.

If the previous Redmi Watch were already eyeing the design of the Apple connected watch, this model is the one that comes closest to it to date. The similarities don’t stop there, since the TPU plastic strap with a matte finish has the same grip design as the Californian brand’s sports straps. Not having had the opportunity to wear it, we will have to wait for a next test to decide on its comfort.
A beautiful screen that looks familiar
On the screen side, the Redmi Watch 3 offers its largest screen in the range, with a 1.75-inch AMOLED panel with small borders, not too saturated colors and sufficient brightness… at least indoors in space of grip. However, it will be necessary to wait for a complete test to know if the screen is bright enough to consult its data in direct sunlight. All at a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Its borders also remain quite thin. By immersing yourself a little in the menus, you can easily control the watch without tactile delay, although you sometimes lose a few frames per second by chaining slides to the right or left.

For the rest, the interface seems pleasant and intuitive… and for good reason: whether it’s the application drawer or the graphic design of the dials offered, the codes of the Apple Watch are never far away. Xiaomi is of course not the only one, but this is not the first time that the brand has inspired it.
Redmi Watch 3 price and availability
A model that costs less than Apple’s product, however: the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 is available now for 150 euros. Two colors are available: black or off-white. In addition to these two colors, two other bracelets are also available in green-purple and turquoise-orange.
