The largest sports league in the world is in the starting blocks. In September, everything revolves around the flying “egg” in the NFL. RTL is there for the first time as a broadcaster. The reigning Super Bowl champion will kick things off before it starts on Sunday at prime time.

It’s less than a month until the start of the NFL season. Then the largest sports league in the world starts again in the fight up to the Super Bowl, RTL is there for the first time as the transmitting station. On Sundays, the American football league will be shown with two live games on free TV. At NITRO, the games of the preseason preparation are currently running.

The regular season begins on September 8 (Friday, 2:20 a.m.) with Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions. The season opening game can be seen on RTL. On the following three Sundays (10.9., 17.9., 24.9.), two prime-time games will be shown at 7 p.m. and 10.25 p.m. on RTL and one game each exclusively at 7 p.m. on RTL+.

The first game on the September 10 broadcast will be Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals on RTL. The game between the Los Angeles Charsgers and the Miami Dolphins follows. RTL + also shows the Atlanta Falcons’ duel against the Carolina Panthers. The big questions about the game day: Will star quarterback Joe Burrow be back in time for the notorious “Battle of Ohio” against Cleveland after his calf injury? How is #1 draft pick Bryce Young doing for the Panthers in his first game of the regular season?

In the future, the run-up to the games will be available on Sundays in the free area on the streaming platform RTL+. From 6.15 p.m. the moderators of RTL and RTL+ report together. From 7 p.m. onwards, the RTL+ crew will be in their own studio.
