It starts today: why Faustine Bollaert’s show is not broadcast this week

The show It starts today, hosted by Faustine Bollaert, will not be broadcast this week, as announced by France Télévisions on Monday, May 23.

Since 2017, Faustine Bollaert has been at the head of the show It starts today. During this, the host gives the floor to anonymous people who come to give a very often moving testimony on sensitive subjects and which affect a large part of the French people. An appointment that France 2 viewers are impatiently waiting for from Monday to Friday. However, it is sad news that has recently been announced to them. Indeed, Faustine Bollaert’s program is canceled this week to make way for Roland Garros. A tournament which began this Sunday, May 22 and which will be broadcast on the channels of the France Télévisions group for two weeks. The start of the matches starts at 1:55 p.m., which is the usual broadcast time of the show. So these are Djokovic, Nadal, Tsitsipas, Alcaraz or even Medvedev who will take the place of Faustine Bollaert.

Like every year, France Télévisions favors broadcasting the Roland Garros tournament, which has therefore forced the channel to take radical decisions. These were explained in a press release. “The public group has indeed announced a mobilization of its channels in order to offer viewers exceptional coverage“, can we read first. This therefore means a broadcast from 11 a.m. to go until the end of the last match of the day“, is then specified. Regarding the broadcast times, the matches will be found on France 4 from 11 a.m. to 1:55 p.m.on France 2 from 1:55 p.m. to 7:55 p.m.on France 3 from 7:55 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. and on the website of France Télévisions from 11 a.m.. Appointments that fans of the Roland Garros tournament will not miss for anything in the world but which therefore cancel the broadcast of emblematic programs.

Roland Garros tournament: which programs have been deprogrammed?

Faustine Bollaert’s show is not the only one to be a victim of the diffusion of the Roland Garros tournament. Indeed, that of Nagui, entitled Do not forget the lyrics and awaited by France 2 viewers every night goes by the wayside just like the series More beautiful life. Both are canceled for the duration of the tournament, from Monday May 23 to Friday May 27. In previous years, Roland Garros was usually broadcast in the evening on France 4, but the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival disrupted the channel’s plans, which had to adapt. The programs will therefore return to their normal broadcast when the tournament is over.
