“It touched me enormously”, Vianney very moved by the gift from this candidate

The Super Cross Battles of The Voice were rich in emotions, especially for Vianney. The coach was offered the best gift by one of the candidates.

The Voice has been in full swing for several weeks. If everyone has their favorites and hopes that one of them will win the competition, the noose tightens. Indeed, this May 11, viewers attended the Super Cross Battles session and the tension was at its maximum for the candidates since there are only eight places for the semi-final.

The least we can say is that The Voice started very strong. Jenifer made her comeback in one of the red armchairs and offered a little tackle towards Mika which did not fail to amuse the audience. But after the humor, it was the emotion that invaded the set of the program with a particularly touching sequence for Vianney.

A gift for Vianney

For these Super Cross Battles, each coach carefully chose the songs that their foals would perform. But for this most important stage, Zazie left the field open to Alphonse, a young singer who stood out for his strong voice and his atypical style reminiscent of Jacques Brel. The latter therefore decided to take back the title Daddy’s boy by Vianney. We know that covering a song from one of The Voice’s coaches can be a double-edged sword. But this time, it paid off.

Alphonse shocked the entire jury with his performance. So much so that as soon as he got off stage, Vianney headed straight towards him. “It touched me a lot”, affirmed the artist before continuing: “It wasn’t the best known so it was brave of you. You put your heart into it. Thank you so much. It’s the first time I’ve heard someone cover it so it did something to me.

Why take back Vianney?

Thanks to his interpretation of Daddy’s boyAlphonse managed to qualify for the semi-finals against Oléma by winning 58% of the votes. If there is anything to be proud of, Alphonse seemed even more proud of Vianney’s compliments: “It’s an honor for me what Vianney says”, confided the young candidate following his performance.

For Alphonse, the choice of this song was very important: “I think it suits me very well in the sense that I want to tell people that I’m not a daddy’s boy. We might say that this is the case with these little shirts, but in fact not at all. I want to say : ‘You think what you want, but I know what I am‘”. The least we can say is that the young talent from The Voice has succeeded with flying colors.
