“It was violent”: Anne Roumanoff looks back on the day she appeared in a press article on “ugly women”: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Anne Roumanoff was Mouloud Achour’s guest on Canal +, Tuesday November 28, 2023. On this occasion, the comedian shared some anecdotes about her youth and her beginnings as an actress. While she was taking her first steps in the world of cinema, the media were not always kind to her, as she recounted. The host of the show Click notably returned to an unflattering article in the women’s press, which had affected the young woman. “The newspaper Marie Claire had titled an article called ‘Women who are ugly’ and which talks about you. How do we take it?” A question to which the 57-year-old comedian answered frankly, explaining what really happened. “She was a woman who is a trendy journalist, […] she told me ‘We’re calling you because we’re writing an article about women who have unusual physiques.’ I said to myself ‘wow, in Marie Claire It’s so good'”she explained before confiding: “I was quite naive. I was 25-30 years old, it was the beginnings”.

Anne Roumanoff had cosmetic surgery but doesn’t have good memories of it

Thinking that this request would help her career take off, Anne Roumanoff accepted the project before becoming disillusioned once she arrived on the scene. “I go to the photo shoot and they tell me, ‘No, there’s no makeup.’ Then the guy turns off the lights and gets down on his stomach to take a photo of me. So there, I should have had a sign that this isn’t normal.. But since she didn’t say ‘ugly women’ but ‘women with unusual physique’… Yes, when it came out, it was… violentshe confided on the set of Canal +. But today, the actress is at peace with her physique. In an interview given to Current wife, on December 6, 2022, she explained that she felt better about herself. The cause was a significant weight loss which made the mother more self-confident. And this, thanks to a cosmetic surgery procedure that she revealed on RTL in 2021. “In March, I had liposuction on my stomach!, she declared in the radio studio. However, Anne Roumanoff said she did not have good memories of it. No, but it hurts very, very badly! Honestly, I prefer a diet and abs.”
