will have to pay extra for car insurance from next year because their vehicle has slipped into a more expensive type class. The Nissan Leaf and the Mercedes Benz GLC 250 Coupe 4Matic attracted particular attention because they were upgraded by two classes.

On the other hand, the Skoda Kamiq 1.5 TSI and the Toyota C-HR Hybrid 2.0 made the biggest improvements and improved three type classes. Owners of these vehicles will therefore save in the future, just like 4.8 million drivers in total.

For the remaining 70 percent of policyholders, everything stays the same. That is around 29.3 million citizens.
