The dematerialized vital card, practical and which simplifies the procedures, will soon arrive near you. Here are the departments where it will be available from October 1, 2021.
What is the dematerialized vital card? The experiment has been carried out in the Rhône and the Alpes Maritimes since 2019. It consists of an application to download to your phone. The app replaces the classic card. This has two main advantages: simplifying the online procedures and allowing your card to be always up to date. This can be requested free of charge from your health insurance fund until December 31, 2022, by downloading the apCV application and following their instructions, provided with your Social Security number. To use it, all you have to do is put your smartphone on the card reader. The site service-public.fr specifies that in case “of theft or loss of the device containing the dematerialized Vitale card, the holder must report it to his cashier.”
