A former British rugby league player, Ricky Bibey, 40, was found dead in a hotel room in Florence, Italian media revealed on Sunday.
A two-time Challenge Cup winner with the Wigan Warriors and St Helens, Bibey was found dead on Saturday at the Hotel Continentale, possibly the victim of a heart attack, according to the daily La Nazione.
The alert was given by a 43-year-old woman Bibey was in the bedroom with. She was seriously injured and bleeding profusely. She was taken immediately to the hospital.

The English Super League reacted on Twitter saying they were “sad to hear of the death of Ricky Bibey” and thanking him “for his contributions to the game”.
