“It’s a bit exhausting…”: Nicolas Duvauchelle recounts the grueling filming of the finale of Pax Massilia

Nicolas Duvauchelle slips into the skin of criminal Franck Murillo in “Pax Massilia” on Netflix. With AlloCiné, the comedy remembered the particularly physical filming of one of the scenes from the season 1 finale.

The actors of Pax Massilia were all fully involved during the filming of this detective series visible on Netflix and headed by Olivier Marchal (who answered questions from AlloCiné on the project). The casting, for example, revealed that they actually went to the northern districts of Marseille to film certain sequences.

A physical shoot

The cast of the fiction, led by Tewfik Jallab (who was injured on the first day), also explained to us that they followed the real cops of the Marseille city for several days in order to follow express training alongside them to better understand their profession and prepare for the role.

But that’s not all ! As Nicolas Duvauchelle, who plays the gangster Franck Murillo, told us, working on Pax Massilia was not easy! The actor, familiar with the world of Olivier Marchal, particularly remembered the particularly tiring filming of one of the last scenes of the series…

It’s a bit exhausting!

He explained to us: “For the end scene, where the characters of Jeanne [Goursaud, ndlr] and Tewfik [Jallab, ndlr] are stalking me, we spent three days running on the quays [du Vieux Port, ndlr] and a little in the Basket [un quartier historique de Marseille, ndlr]. It was very late, we were at 8 p.m. – 4 a.m.… So it’s true that after doing eight hours of racing, three days in a row, it’s a bit exhausting! (laughs)”

In the end, the result is great so we’re happy but at the moment you’re a bit angry.remembered Nicolas Duvauchelle with humor. It was exhilarating despite everything, that’s for sure! You just need preparation because it’s very physical, as usual in Olivier’s series and films.

In Pax Massilia, Nicolas Duvauchelle responds to Tewfik Jallab (Lyès), Jeanne Goursaud (Alice), Nicolas Duvauchelle (Murillo), Lani Sogoyou (Audrey), Olivier Barthelemy (Arno), Idir Azougli (Tatoo), Florence Thomassin (curator Fabiani) and even Samir Boitard (Ali).
