It’s a first for Natalie Portman: she’s starring in a thriller series to watch this summer… And the trailer is here!

With “La Voix du lac” – or “Lady in the Lake” in the original version – Natalie Portman stars in her first series, a thriller that contains many mysteries. Check out the trailer.

With such a career and so many awards, one would be tempted to believe that Natalie Portman has already done it all. All he was missing was one series. This is done with La Voix du lac – or Lady in the Lake – in the original version, a thriller in ten episodes available from the summer on the Apple TV+ platform.

Before being a series, this project is firstly a novel written by Laura Lippman and published in 2019. For this plot, the author was inspired by two murders committed in Baltimore in 1969, that of a little girl of Jewish faith aged 11 and that of a black woman aged 33.

The story of La Voix du Lac goes like this: “Thanksgiving 1966 – While the city of Baltimore is in turmoil following the disappearance of a little girl, the lives of two women will fatally collide. Maddie SchwartzNatalie Portman), a housewife, seeks to bury a mysterious past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist.

Cleo JohnsonMoses Ingram), a mother struggling to provide for her family, travels through the political underbelly of Baltimore’s black community. Their lives seem very different, but when Maddie becomes obsessed with Cleo’s baffling death, a chasm opens up, putting both women’s loved ones in danger. Created, written and directed by Alma Har’el, “La Voix du Lac” is a dark and feverish thriller.”

The first images revealed by the Apple TV+ platform promise an impressive visual spectacle but also an investigation full of suspense.

On screen, Natalie Portman is accompanied by Moses Ingram – who appeared in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series -, David Corenswet (Superman), Noah Jupe (Without a sound) but also Mikey Madison, the heroine of the last Palme d’ gold, Anora, directed by Sean Baker.

The Voice of the Lake, available on Apple TV+ on July 19.
