It’s autumn – the Styrian summer is on its last legs

The Styrians have to say goodbye to sunshine and heat this week. Autumn is already casting its shadow.

The summer will rear up for the last time this week before it will probably finally leave the field to autumn. The 30-degree mark will almost certainly not be reached this week. On Monday and Tuesday it will be warm again in late summer, but more than 28 degrees should not be possible even in sunny south-eastern Styria. In Upper Styria you have to be content with a maximum of 26 degrees at the beginning of the week.Rain showers should only appear in the mountains today and tomorrow, the rest of the country will remain dry after the thunderstorms of the weekend.Cold front will be on the horizon on WednesdayOn Wednesday, a cold front will bring the autumnal weather change with himself. Rain is to be expected across the board, but severe storms should not form. The temperatures climb only occasionally over 20 degrees. The chances of at least some sun are highest in the south. The broad rain front should clear again in the course of Friday. But even if it gets dry in time for “Airpower”, the cool temperatures will remain the whole weekend. At the moment, however, all forecasts should be treated with particular caution. “The general weather situation is difficult to interpret at the moment. Although there are high and low pressure systems over Europe, there is no strong west wind band that causes the air mass change,” say the experts at Zamg (Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics).
