The Google Pixel 8a isn’t even official as we already know what its packaging will look like. Photos of the mobile box are circulating on the Internet and confirm the design of the smartphone.
Why wait for an official announcement when you can discover a product right away? In the world of smartphones, the many leakers present on the social networks surely started from this question before starting to reveal information often many months in advance. So much so that for years, it has been almost impossible for a manufacturer to surprise anyone with the release of its mobile. The examples are legion, from the Galaxy S24 to the Pixel 8, including the iPhone 15.
But don’t think that only high-end models are concerned. The affordable Google Pixel 8a is not expected until at least May 2024, and we already know what it will look like. Last October, 3D renderings revealed its design. They are realistic and there is every reason to believe that they will later prove to be correct. A month later in November, new leak with the wallpapers of the Pixel 8a, much to the chagrin of the Mountain View firm. But these are just images. This time, we have a photo.
Pixel 8a box photos reveal its design
Spotted on X (Twitter) and from Vietnam according to the user No name, two photos show the box in which the Google Pixel 8a. Unsurprisingly, this is the name that was chosen. Just below, the back of the mobile is identical to the 3D renderings already seen. We see a smartphone whose edges are more curved than those of the Pixel 7a, while its photo island seems less prominent than those of its big brothers the Pixel 8. Moreover, it is not integrated into the chassis but is part of the rear shell, another difference with its elders.
We also learn from the back of the box that the Pixel 8a has as reference G6GPR. In terms of features, there’s nothing to get your teeth into, however. It is very likely that leaks of this type will intensify as May and Google I/o approach. We’ll be done soon enough.
