The other 50 percent is made up of a combination of protein (e.g. chicken), carbohydrates (e.g. pasta or rice) and healthy fats. The vegetables can be varied as you like – whether carrots, mushrooms, peppers or broccoli, you can eat what you want. The main thing is that it remains veggie!

What makes the 50 percent rule so successful?

There are several reasons why the 50 percent rule is totally trendy:

  • Easy calorie saving by exchanging food with vegetables. No complicated rules like weighing, measuring or noting meals.
  • The concept is no diet and can be done permanently.
  • Because of the many vegetables we are supplied with all the nutrients we need. The Blood sugar level remains rather constant, which prevents cravings.
  • Eat lots of vegetables generally healthy and can prevent various diseases.

How should the vegetables be best eaten?

Basically, the vegetables can be eaten raw or cooked. To ensure that the nutrients remain in the vegetables, you should pay attention to the preparation: Steaming and stewing are considered to be much more gentle preparation methods than frying, for example.

How much can I lose weight with the 50 percent rule?

If you follow the concept in the long term and without cheating, can shed two to three kilograms per month. It might not be as quick as giving up something completely, but let's be honest – who would want that?
