its first electric sedan is largely inspired by the Porsche Taycan

Xiaomi has just released new images of its first electric sedan, the SU7, and they clearly show that the Chinese manufacturer was inspired by one of the most popular electric sports cars in the world.

The Xiaomi Car has been roaming Chinese roads for several months now, but most of the prototypes spotted were hidden under camouflage. We were treated to some official images a few weeks ago, but Xiaomi has now revealed a better overview of the SU7, its first electric sedan.

The Xiaomi SU7 will be available in 3 different models: the SU7, the SU7 Pro and the SU7 Max. The design seems inspired by luxury sports cars, and more particularly by one of them: the Porsche Taycan. As you can see in the image below, the resemblance is striking to say the least.

The Xiaomi SU7 will soon be marketed

With its design similar to the Porsche Taycan, Xiaomi has therefore opted for an aggressive appearance, with a fastback style and sleek, sleek lines. It should measure no less than 4997 mm x 1963 mm x 1455 mm, which makes it slightly longer than a Tesla Model 3, but slightly narrower.

Everything now suggests that the Xiaomi SU7 will arrive on the market in just a few weeks. It should initially be marketed in China, and a release in other countries in the future cannot be ruled out. Obviously, we imagine that Xiaomi will already have many orders to fulfill in its country of originand production might not be large enough to allow the car to be exported.

It now remains to be seen when the new Xiaomi SU7 will be officially launched, and above all at what price. We know that on the SU7 Pro and Max, the battery pack used would have a capacity of 100 kWh and promise a range of 800 km according to the Chinese approval cycle, so we should expect a price closer to a Tesla Model S for these most expensive versions.
