It’s French fintech Spendesk’s turn to become a unicorn

One day, a unicorn. Such is the pace of French Tech in recent days. After welcoming its 25th unicorn on Monday, the ecosystem now has one more with Spendesk. The French start-up, which is developing a professional expense management solution for small businesses, has just completed a round of funding of 100 million euros led by the American fund Tiger Global. The company’s historical investors, namely Index Ventures, Eight Roads, General Atlantic and eFounders, have also returned to the pot during this operation, which allows the start-up to exceed a billion dollars in valuation. She had already raised 100 million euros last summer.

Launched in 2016 by Jordane Giuly, Guilhem Bellion and Rodolphe Ardant, the young shoot was born within the start-up studio eFounders. Today, it claims 3,500 corporate clients, enough to reach 100,000 users. Spendesk also says it managed more than $3 billion in spending last year. This is the fifth French unicorn of the year after PayFit, Ankorstore, Qonto and Exotec.
