There has long been speculation about the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, now it’s official. The next three top smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer will be presented on July 4, 2022. Xiaomi has already shown the three new cell phones and thus confirmed many rumours.
Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra officially announced
Xiaomi fans have been waiting for weeks for a real high-end smartphone that can keep up with the iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (test). On July 4th there is redemption. On this day, Xiaomi introduces three new smartphones. In addition to the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro, there will also be a 12S Ultra. But not only the Ultra will be equipped with a Leica camera, but all new 12S models. A first picture confirms this:
In the picture you can already recognize the first colors and new materials. The Xiaomi 12S will become the “small” flagship smartphone, while Xiaomi is marketing the 12S Pro as the “standard”. With the 12S Ultra, Xiaomi promises outstanding image quality in smartphone photography.
Xiaomi does not name any specific specifications, but it can be assumed that at least the processor will be upgraded to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This is not only faster, but also much more efficient and should not get so warm. Otherwise, of course, the Leica camera the highlight of smartphones will. Since the cooperation is not only implemented in the 12S Ultra, the photos of the 12S and 12S Pro could also be better.

New Xiaomi phones only for China?
The assumption that Xiaomi will initially only launch the 12S smartphones in China has been confirmed with the announcement. So if you were hoping for an ultra cell phone from Xiaomi in Germany, you have to be patient. The Xiaomi 12 was unveiled in December 2021 and came to Germany months later. It is quite possible that the 12S models will first appear in China and later here with us. After all, we already know what the Leica cameras are really capable of.
