Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2023 won against Miss Guyana 2023, who became her first runner-up, following her election. While his parents were interviewed on the show Seven to eight, broadcast this Sunday, December 24, the mother of Ève Gilles shared the premonitory reflection that her daughter made, shortly before the beauty contest.

In front of the camera, the mother of the new Miss France said: “I knew my daughter was going to win. I knew it. I knew she worked a lot. And then, she was determined. And she said to me: ‘Mom, it’s going to be me anyway !’”. So, as she said: ‘it’s going to be me’, I could only believe in my daughter”. Statement on which her husband responded by saying: “We have a philosophy, which is to never participate in something, just to participate. It’s true that the goal is to win. And we’ve always had this philosophy with her.”

A victory followed by criticism

If her victory is very real, Ève Gilles had certainly not imagined that she would have to face countless criticism after his election. Indeed, Miss France 2024 was targeted on social networks. His short haircut, as well as his body shape, among other things, were criticized by many Internet users. Guest on the show What an era!broadcast on the night of Saturday December 23 to Sunday December 24, the beauty queen explained that she was lucky to be well surrounded, which allows him to get through this ordeal. “You received thousands of insults in one week?”asked presenter Léa Salamé. “Oh yes, much more than that!”, the young woman replied. She also added: “If I wasn’t armed, if I didn’t have a team behind me, maybe I would have experienced this moment very badly”.
