A question that today finds a first answer with this NASA project revealed by The Guardian. The American space agency would thus be developing an interface using natural language processing of the ChatGPT type intended to allow astronauts to perform many tasks, by simple discussion.

Moon target for AI

And NASA has great ambitions for this project, since the system should be deployed on its future orbital station around the Moon, the Gateway station, whose existence is part of the Artemis project.

AI will thus be able to assist astronauts during their maneuvers and experiments, quickly informing them in moments of doubt or forgetfulness, where before they had to dive back into manuals. NASA also wants to use AI for automatic operations, not required by human occupants, such as the detection and correction of digital failures. The future, right?
