After seven seasons, the “Riverdale” series is about to say goodbye. The opportunity for his actress, Lili Reinhart, to come back to the complicated reputation of the program.
Over the course of its seasons, Riverdale has gradually become the series “of the big anything” where each new plot, each crazier than the other, gave rise to many jokes on social networks. After more than six years of existence, the flagship program of the CW ends with its seventh season and a last episode which should still surprise more than one.
In a meeting made with media vulnerabilityactress Lili Reinhart returned, without language of wood, on the difficulty of playing in such a mocked series: “On the networks, people watch excerpts out of context and think: ‘What? But I thought it was about teenagers.’ So did we in the beginning, in the first season at least.”
She continues: “It’s not easy being the prankster. We just want to be actors, we are passionate about what we do. So when the absurd side of the series became a topic of conversation, it was complicated.”
The actress affirms that all the absurdity of the intrigues also makes the charm of Riverdale: “When we were doing script readings and something ridiculous happened, Roberto [Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, le créateur, ndlr] began to laugh because he understood this absurdity and this excess.”
Another star of the show has also defended herself against criticism. Camila Mendes does not mince words: “Superhero movies are a hit at the box office today and these are the most absurd stories you can imagine! You have a raccoon fighting in space against aliens! Nobody thinks, ‘That doesn’t make sense.’”
