Designed, it seems, to meet a demand from players, the Graphic card GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB does not attract manufacturers.

Inflation of 90 euros for 8 GB of VRAM and more
While AMD has often emphasized the amount of video memory on board its graphics cards, this is clearly not NVIDIA’s workhorse as evidenced by the various RTX 4000 card releases.
In this context, the announcement of a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16 GB took everyone by surprise. In reality, it would seem that this card has only one objective: to “please” those players who are crying out for more video memory and are not satisfied with the 8 GB of the RTX 4060 Ti.
Problem, thus doubling the video memory is not without consequence for the users of course – the indicative price (MSRP) of NVIDIA is 549 euros, against 439 euros for the 8 Go – but also for the card manufacturers.
Too close to the RTX 4070?
Quoted by VideoCardzAndreas Schilling of the HardwareLuxx site explains that these manufacturers are not scrambling to promote this new graphics card, the release of which is due to start on July 18.
Indeed, for these manufacturers the equation is difficult to solve. Admittedly, the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB doubles the amount of video memory, but that’s the only difference with the 8 GB model. An MSRP of 549 euros clearly limits the room for maneuver of manufacturers who very quickly find themselves walking on the flowerbeds of their RTX 4070s.
Remember that alongside cards sold at the indicative price, ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI rely on the sale of overclocked cards charged 30 to 50 euros more. Problem, in this case, these cards could only be 30 euros less than an RTX 4070 with 12 GB of video memory.
Apart from these 4 GB which play in favor of the RTX 4060 Ti, the latter has no advantage over the RTX 4070 whose GPU has nothing to do and which has a larger interface bus. We have not yet tested the RTX 4060 Ti, but, on paper, between an RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB at 549/589 euros and an RTX 4070 at 639 euros: “ the question is quickly answered !
