It is in the context of an interview granted to Deadline that the boss of FX has confirmed the absence of Ellen Ripley in the series Alien.
And this, for a purely chronological reason (a priori).
Alien without Ellen?
After directing Fargo, director Noah Hawley will tackle a highly anticipated new series: Alien. Ridley Scott’s film will be entitled to its TV adaptation, with a scheduled broadcast on FX. A series which should last approximately 8 to 10 hours, and whose events will take place at the end of the 21and century, on planet Earth.
Also, the boss of the chain FX John Landgraf wanted to provide some details, in particular concerning the character of Ellen Ripley, embodied in the cinema by Sigourney Weaver. He thus confirmed that this character, to say the least emblematic, will not be present in the series, nor any other character fromAliensince the series takes place around 2070, against 2122 for the film.
However, the director of FX does not close the door to a few “surprises”, with, one imagines, elements coming directly fromAlien: Covenant or even of Prometheus. At this time, we do not know the cast or any release date for this series. Alien.
