Like OnePlus in its time, Nothing cultivates the art of teasing on social networks. A way to play in the big leagues without spending a fortune, young brand requires, and creating a certain expectation around its ads.

A game that cannot last forever. One day, you have to present your product well. For the Nothing Phone (2), we now have an official date: July 11, 2023. The announcement will take place at 5 p.m. Paris time.

A sprawling clue

This will not have escaped Cthulhu fans, Nothing shared for the occasion a visual incorporating tentacles. Since a partnership with a cosmic entity seems unlikely, we can already see a continuity with the announcement of the Phone (1), which was accompanied by birds.

The visual is accompanied by text that says ” Come to the bright side“, which can be translated as “join us on the bright side“, wordbright, luminous in English, playing on the famous glyphs on the back of the phone. This is also possibly the use that Nothing wants to make of the tentacles in the visual, supposed to represent the “dark side”, namely the rest of the smartphone industry.

This is also another element that this visual teaches us: the Nothing Phone (2) will probably keep the tangle of LEDs that made the reputation of the Phone (1). This one has changed a bit. The oval shape in the center is now dotted whereas it was almost a full circle on the previous phone. Similarly, the circle surrounding the photo block has been cut into two parts, giving it a greater sense of movement.

For the rest, it’s hard to say. We have to wait for the official announcement, or the multiple teasers that are sure to brighten up the month between now and the release.
