Among Us, the go-to betrayal video game for losing friends since 2018, is going to be adapted into an animated series by CBS Studios. The developer, Innersloth, is directly in charge of the project with the creator ofInfinity Train.
The least we can say is that Innersloth is a diesel.
In space no one will hear you drift
Probably in order to revive the weakening hype around its game, the independent studio Innerlsloth has just announced the start of an animated series adaptation of its game. Among Us. CBS Studios is associated with the project with the developer, but no streaming platform or channel has yet been announced for broadcast. The question of format also remains unresolved.
Owen Dennis, creator of the animated series Infinity Train on Cartoon Network and Max, will serve as creative and executive producer. Unsurprisingly, the show will be based on the central concept of the game available on PC, consoles and mobile devices: one or more members of your crew have been replaced by shape-shifting aliens in order to sabotage, kill and sow confusion. We must identify them before it is too late. Unless you’re the impostor, of course.
An explosive success for a not lazy studio
Released in 2018 and a real surprise many months later in 2020, especially during the Covid crisis, Among Us has since evolved considerably. While less played today than it was at its best, when it garnered millions of players and views on Twitch and YouTube, the game has since seen many content updates. It also arrived in a virtual reality version at the end of 2022, the aptly named Among Us VR. The Innersloth studio has also recruited new members, who will certainly not be too many to work on this series.
