As he has just celebrated his 30th birthday, (re)discover “Christmas at the Muppets”, a memorable adaptation of Charles Dickens’ masterpiece with Kermit, Piggy, Fozzy and the others!
Ebenezer Scrooge, a particularly odious loan shark with his entourage and his employees, is about to spend Christmas alone. On New Year’s Eve, the ghosts of his former associates, Jacob and Robert Marley, pay him a little visit.
They announce to him that three spirits will have the mission of making him aware of his cruelty: those of Christmas past, present and future.
The story, we know it by heart! Composed by Charles Dickens in 1843, his famous Christmas songwhich remains perhaps his most famous work with Oliver Twisthas been adapted dozens of times for film and television, including by Disney studios.
In addition to the traumatic Mickey’s Christmas and the spectacular Scrooge’s Funny Christmas, the enchanted kingdom – in collaboration with the teams of visionary puppeteer Jim Henson – also produced… Christmas with the Muppets.
Unlike the other versions of the tale, which are sometimes a bit frightening for the youngest, this one exudes good humor and the joy of Christmas.
In the cast of this little musical and hilarious nugget: an Ebenezer Scrooge played by Michael Caine (who pushes the song for the occasion), and of course the fine team of Muppets, carried by Kermit (Bob Cratchit), Miss Piggy (Emily Crachit ), Fozzie (Fozziewig), Gonzo (Charles Dickens himself) and all the others.

The result: a joyful and hilarious musical comedy, which still remains today a real little must-have for children of the 80s and 90s. An excellent film that we therefore advise you to rediscover (or catch up on) as the holidays approach, especially for its contagious joy.
What they will like:
- The soundtrack of the film, and more particularly the songs. Music being, we remind you, an essential ingredient in any good Muppet movie.
- The Muppets themselves, always so funny and crazy. The little family is complete, and we are necessarily happy to find them.
- The story of Charles Dickens, always so powerful and timeless, whatever the version.

What may worry them:
- Perhaps certain characters in the story, especially the ghosts who visit Scrooge. That said, rest assured, they’re much less scary here than in other versions of the story. To give you an idea, the ghosts of Jacob and Robert Marley are interpreted by Statler and Waldorf, the two little old men from the balcony.
