The giant Stellantis (Peugeot, Fiat, DS, Citroën, etc.) offers itself the services of Terrafame for its future electric vehicles.

The Finnish company will notably supply the automotive group with low-carbon nickel sulphate.

Stellantis partners with Terrafame

For a few days, and throughout this year, Stellantis will be able to celebrate the title of “Car of the Year 2023”, gleaned by the 100% electric Jeep Avenger. Today, the group announces the signature of an agreement with the company Terrafame, which will ensure the supply of nickel sulphate intended for the batteries of the electric vehicles to come.

In this way, from 2025, the Finnish company will supply Stellantis with nickel sulphate for the duration of the agreement, fixed at 5 years. Remember that Terrafame uses a fully traceable production process initiated directly in its own mine, in Finland.

Low carbon nickel sulphate

Additionally, Terrafame employs a unique production technology that allows the carbon footprint of the company’s nickel sulphate to be among the lowest in the industry. These are all elements that have convinced the giant Stellantis to join forces with the Scandinavian company for its future zero-emission vehicles.

With its Dare Forward plan, Stellantis aims to reach 100% of battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales for passenger cars in Europe by 2030 (and 50% of BEV sales for passenger cars and pickups in the United States). ).

According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, the ambition is also to become the industry champion in the fight against climate change, achieving carbon neutrality by 2038.
