King Charles (75) and Queen Camilla (76) publicly congratulated Princess Kate (42) on her special day. The wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William (41), turns 42 today, January 9th. On X (formerly Twitter) The royals’ official account says: “We wish the Princess of Wales a happy birthday today.”

The palace also shared a photo that shows Kate with her father-in-law at his coronation on May 6th. King Charles can be seen wearing a crown, while Kate – dressed in her coronation robe and headdress – smiles at him. In the comments on the post, numerous royal fans join in congratulating Kate.

This is how Princess Kate is supposed to celebrate today

Princess Kate can probably enjoy her birthday more this year. In 2023, her special day was overshadowed by Prince Harry’s (39) memoir “Reserve”. Details from the book, in which King Charles’s younger son made new allegations against his family, became public at the beginning of January and probably caused a stir behind the palace walls.

Like the British newspaper “Express” writes, Kate will reportedly celebrate her 42nd birthday this year at home with her family. The paper reports, citing an anonymous source, that she prefers a small celebration as her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, are just returning to school after the holidays. The Princess of Wales also likes to be surrounded by her family.

Princess Kate and Prince William have also reportedly emphasized to King Charles that their children come first. According to British media reports, the monarch wants the heir to the throne to take on more royal duties. William and Kate therefore want to concentrate on their family while their children are still small.
