It’s really coming! – Fiat Topolino: Small heartthrob with a future

It doesn’t help: the face of the Fiat 500 is simply incredibly likeable, at least if you have even the slightest affinity for Italy. Fiat has long based the success of the entire brand on it – and now they are playing the heartbreaker card again.

In the Stellantis Group, it is now common practice to use existing models across brands. The most recent example is the Fiat Topolino, which is a new variant of the lightweight electric vehicle already offered by Opel as the Rocks-e and by Citroen as the Ami. Fiat wants to launch the mini-mobile, of which there is only one official picture so far, soon. The Italians have not yet revealed in which countries the Topolino will be available. Externally, the Topolino relies on dolce vita and retro. The model name is a reference to the successful Topolino introduced by Fiat in 1936, while the friendly-looking face is reminiscent of the Nuova 500 built from 1957. The absence of doors is a reference to the 1950s beach mobile 500 Jolly Spiaggina. A textile folding roof, which also has a long tradition at Fiat, also ensures plenty of sun and fresh air. Technical details have not yet been mentioned. However, like the sister models from Opel and Citroen, the Topolino will have a 6 kW/8 hp electric drive with a 5.5 kWh battery for a range of 75 kilometers and, as a 6e light vehicle, will be able to drive at a maximum of 45 km/h. Fiat’s future electric dwarf will also be priced in similar regions to its group brothers. In Germany, the Rocks-e is available from around 8,000 euros. Soon it will also be offered in Austria.
