Tesla is preparing to unveil a brand new vehicle: the Model 3 Ludicrous. Before its official release, we already know a little more about the technical sheet of the car, and in particular its autonomy.
A few days ago, Tesla reportedly held a secret event during which he lifted the veil on its next Tesla Model 3, a Ludicrous model more powerful than the others. The latter succeeds the old Performance version, and this time takes up the codes of the new Model 3 “Highland”, but with more power.
Before its official launch, a European homologation report has just lifted the veil on part of the car’s technical sheet. In particular, we learn that the Tesla Model 3 Ludicours will offer a top speed of 261 km/h and two enginesone at the front (3D3A 158kW 240Nm) and one at the rear (4D2A 303kW 448Nm).
What autonomy for the Model 3 Ludicrous?
The report also reveals the range to be expected from the car. According to published data, the LG 79 kWh NMC battery for the version manufactured in Shanghai will offer a maximum range of 528 km according to the WLTP cycle, and a maximum power of 415 kW. This is slightly less than the old Performance version, which offered 547 km of range with its 76 kWh battery.
In return, we will find new features such as active suspension, fast charging up to 312 kW, roof bars and even ventilated sports bucket seats. Note also the possibility of equipping the car with 20 inch Pirelli P-ZERO 4 wheelsor 19 inch “Track Pack”. The empty weight is announced at 1854 kg, which is slightly more than the old Performance version. Finally, no acceleration data has been shared, but some leaks claim around 2.9 seconds for 0 to 96 km/h.
For the moment, we don’t really know when this new Model 3 Ludicrous will be officially launched. However, Tesla has recently filmed a lot of promotional videos for the car, and the latter has already been spotted numerous times on the roads of California in different colors: red, black and even blue. It is therefore likely that the announcement is imminent, especially since some journalists have already been able to attend a closed-door event dedicated to the new sedan.
